Bill Hayes will give an overview of the military career of Robert W. Furnas, including details on his appointments to command a variety of troops during the American Civil War. He will also discuss the issues faced on the Great Plains and Nebraska Territory during the war and how those issues influenced the military campaigns Furnas participated in.
