Selections 2024: The Permanent Collection of the BFAA
This exhibition will include historical to contemporary works from Terence Duren to Brownville’s Tom Palmerton as well as regional artists who have worked in Brownville or exhibited at the Schoolhouse Art Gallery.

Tim Jaeger & Cassia Kite | Remnants of the Harvest: An Artistic Reflection on Nebraska Agriculture

This exhibition delves into the heart of Nebraska’s agricultural landscape, offering a unique perspective through remnants forged from the farm. It celebrates the rich tapestry of Nebraska’s farming heritage, inviting viewers to contemplate the intricate relationship between humans, land and sustenance. Visitors will embark on a journey through the seasons, experiencing the cycle of planting, growth, harvest and renewal.

Loren Entz (1949-2022): Paint, Char, Pencil & Clay

Through a small representation of Loren’s vast body of work across mediums, subjects and time periods, this exhibition includes a few that he kept with him and could possibly be considered “favorites.” Each piece is a reflection of the light Loren saw and the compositions he carefully planned through a storyboard of brushstrokes, sketch marks and clay.

Pete Genzlinger: Image Prospector

Pete Genzlinger is always searching for the next image. “It’s the great shape or texture in golden light that speaks to me. Others may say, oh, just another flower, weed or cornstalk, but I think it could have possibilities. Become a prospector and see what nugget you may find in my collection of images.”

From The Farm Art - Open Show

In honor of the 200th birthday of Gov. Furnas, the BFAA welcomes art from area folks focused on pieces from farms. Each exhibit will include some article connected to the farm. Works in this exhibition will be placed in the Schoolhouse Art Gallery as well as the greenspace surrounding the building.
